Shemin Nurseries, Milton:

BUILDING CHARACTERISTICS:

Horticultural Distribution Center;

The building is located on the north side of Highway 401 and has a steel structure with exterior metal & wood panel wall systems.  The flat roof has a conventional built-up roof system on an insulated metal deck.  The site development included the new office & warehouse, a greenhouse, an irrigation system, well drilling, a new pump house & new gas supply piping. The fire sprinkler system is supplied by an irrigation pond.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

Liaison with local jurisdictional authorities and client’s project manager for scope of work and schedule development;

Tendering / Contract Administration / Schedule & Records Management / QC Inspections & Reports / Payment Certification / Commissioning / Warranty Inspections & Enforcement;

Elizabeth Square, Burlington

$1,500,000+ INTERIOR/EXTERIOR RENOVATION PROJECT

PROJECT SCOPE:

The project included total interior demolition on 5 of 6 floor levels (40,000+ square feet), significant HVAC upgrades and tenant improvement work.  Exterior work included new windows on the first & second floors, asphalt paving & demolition of an adjacent building.  The total building area is approximately 50,000 sq. feet. 

RENOVATION TEAM:

Consultants – Group Eight Engineering

Contractors – 30 Sub Trades managed by STERRY Technical

TENANT IMPROVEMENT WORK:

Levels 1-2 – HRDC / Employment Center (Federal/Provincial);

Levels 4-6 – Community Care Access Center;

Village Offices of Oakville, Etobicoke & Brampton:

(Three multi-building projects)

BUILDING CHARACTERISTICS:

Office Condominiums;

The Brampton & Oakville buildings have conventional poured concrete foundations while the Etobicoke site required deep concrete caissons due to poor soil conditions.  All the buildings have concrete, steel, and masonry structures with exterior brick veneer.  The hidden flat roof areas have a conventional BUR roof system on an insulated metal deck. 

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

Same responsibilities as previous project (i.e. Shemin Nurseries).

Managed the Brampton project from start to finish;

Completed final 50% of the Oakville and Etobicoke projects after staff departures.  This included significant administrative work to restore project files and re-establish schedules, as well as evaluate progress, payments and accounting records.
